E.V. Type:

  • These are everyday bikes used to get around town on paved roads. They are typically designed to optimize range and have standard road tiers.

  • These are eBikes designed with suspension and fat tires that are typically from 2 to 4.5 inches wide with off road treading. These are great for riding on sand, snow and soft off-road surfaces.

  • These bikes used to carry groceries, kids, and even can be used for commercial deliveries. They come with pre engineered attachment points that allow for baskets in front or back, and to tow a cargo trailer and add a passenger seat.

  • These are ebikes designed for ease of transportation and storage. A good folding bike will typically be compact in size, and have simple yet reliable hinged folding mechanisms for collapsing the frame and handlebar.

  • These are ebikes engineered for intense off-roading, over rough terrain, and up and down steep inclines. A good mountain bike has puncture resistant tires, with off road treading, durable suspension, and a light weight yet strong frame.

  • These ebikes are an extension of racing road bikes. They are very light, have thin tires with tread specifically optimized for paved roads, and let you go fast with manual pedal power, with or without electric assistance.

  • These are Non-Pedal Assisted vehicles with direct electric motor powered drive trains.

E.V. Class:

Pedal assist eBikes are regulated in three different classes that determine the maximum speed the motor can propel the bike and whether or not a "straight electric" throttle that does not require peddling to engage the motor is allowed. Non-Pedal assist Electric Vehicles require a conventional Driver's license to operate in most regions.

  • ebikes have a top speed of 20 mph using pedal assistance (PAS). The motor is designed to cut off if you exceed 20 mph, and no Class 1 bikes may include a throttle.

  • pedal assist models have a throttle that can propel the bike up to 20 mph whether you're pedaling or not and can go up to the same maximum speed with pedal assist.

  • bikes have a top speed of 28 mph when using pedal assistance, and may optionally include a throttle. The throttle (if there is one) can be used to accelerate the bike without pedaling, but it's limited to a maximum of 20 mph. To reach the top speed of 28 mph, you need to use pedal assist.

  • vehicles do not offer (PAS) pedal assistance from an electric motor, but rather provide direct power to the vehicle drive train operated from a throttle or accelerator. These vehicles require a standard divers license to operate legally. A class M1 and M2 license is required to operate two wheeled electric vehicles. A class C license is required to operate three or four wheeled vehicles
